Footage obtained exclusively by 9News shows the Nissan heading south on the M1 towards Byron Bay yesterday evening.
Three of the car’s tires were flat, but the car continued to sparkle down the road in front of a line of police cars.
Other drivers on the road kept free.
Police say 31-year-old Aaron John Mannell was behind the wheel.
Police allege he crossed the New South Wales/Queensland border, driving dangerously close to 150km/h and failing to stop.
The pursuit was eventually called off after police placed spikes in the road.
Mannell appeared in court today and pleaded guilty to several charges related to dangerous driving.
He pleaded not guilty to refusing a breath test and driving while intoxicated.
The court heard he had a criminal record in Queensland for dangerous driving causing death in 2019.
He was refused bail, with the magistrate describing him as a significant risk to the public.
