Qantas slashes prices of 20,000 seats across 60 international routes in its first Travel Week sale

It’s time to plan your next big international vacation, with Qantas is reducing the price of popular routes for the next eight days.

The airline is offering discounts on 20,000 seats on 60 international routes with its first Travel Week sale.

During the sale, a flight from Sydney to New York will cost the average traveler just $1,699, while Sydney to Tokyo will cost $1,149.

The Travel Week sale includes both cash fares and the newly launched Classic Plus award seat, which allows frequent flyers to use their Qantas points to purchase sale fares that are also eligible for upgrades.

All Qantas fares include checked baggage, complimentary food and drink and seat selection.

Qantas International chief executive Cam Wallace said the airline was celebrating its first ever Travel Week sale by discounting some of its most popular international destinations.

“We are seeing more and more Australians traveling to Japan, with Tokyo being one of our most sought-after destinations on the Qantas international network.

“From its unique blend of traditional and contemporary cuisine to the allure of iconic landmarks like Mount Fuji, we’re delighted to include Japan in our Travel Week sale, among other popular itineraries and travel destinations like Honolulu, Los Angeles and Queenstown.”

Sales are available until 11:59 p.m. (AEDT) Wednesday 4 December 2024, unless sold out before then.

Fares are available for selected travel dates from January to October 2025. with some periods of interruption.
