A Central coast grandma will take her red light ticket to court, claiming she doesn’t deserve the expensive ‘slap in the face’.
Elderly care worker Sue Beltran was fined $544 and given three demerit points for running a red light in Emington through Sydney in September.

“I’m not young myself and I’m working to make ends meet, so it’s just an extra kind of slap in the face,” she told 7NEWS.
Beltran says she’s a good driver and the safety of her four customers, whom she drives every day, always comes first.
Although she admitted she was over the white line, she said she did not complete a turn.
Beltran said one car in front of her “stopped in the middle of the road” while another stopped halfway before turning.
A driver behind her was “in my bumper” so she couldn’t reverse, “so I just stayed where I was.”
Beltran was shocked to receive the hefty fine and the photo, which she said “clearly” showed “I was still motionless”.
Opposition transport spokeswoman Natalie Ward said people were getting stuck at the junction “so there should be discretion to review situations like this”.
When Beltran initially challenged the fine, Revenue NSW told her that leniency was not appropriate because it was a serious crime due to public safety.
But she is not backing down and will challenge the decision in court.
