Simple mistake that cost driver more than $1700

“I have a picture of my car in said bay… I was definitely not on the side of the sign that required a ticket. I included this photo in my appeal,” they wrote.

“Now my next option is court..?

“Or can someone gently explain to me why I’m wrong? I feel like I’m going crazy.’

The parking sign appears to say that between 8:00am-9:15am and 2:45-4:00pm on school days there is five minute parking on either side of the sign without a ticket requirement.

Two-hour parking is available from 9.15am to 2.45pm and 4pm to 6pm on school days and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and non-school weekdays. But if you park to the right of the sign, you will need a ticket.

Finally, four-hour parking is available from 18:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday and from 08:00 to 10:00 on Sundays, although again a ticket is required if you park on the right.

Reddit users seemed united in both their appreciation that the original poster shouldn’t have received a fine — and their shock at the elaborate sign.

“Someone burn this post,” wrote one.

“Council should be fined for signs like this,” wrote another.
