Teen arrested with knife, ‘tactical’ gear, and neo-Nazi propaganda outside MP’s office

A 19-year-old man is in custody after turning up at the office of Newcastle Labor MP Tim Crackanthorpe carrying a knife, ‘tactical’ gear and neo-Nazi propaganda.
The teenager was arrested around 12.30pm on Wednesday after allegedly distributing a disturbing manifesto.
Police did not elaborate on what was written in the manifesto.

Crackanthorpe released a statement about the incident.
“I understand there was an incident in Newcastle today,” he said Sydney Morning Herald.
“I have spoken to the police and they are dealing with the situation and have assured me that no one has been hurt.
“I was advised that the individual was in and out of my office briefly, he left before making any contact with my staff.”
NSW Police also released a statement.
“After further investigations officers became aware of the existence of a document which was circulated to a number of public figures and the media,” the police said in a statement.
“We remind the public under section 93Z Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) that the distribution or circulation of material threatening or inciting violence on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status or HIV status/ AIDS is a crime.”
